I'm very quite new to flash. I used to try flash before but it seemed not to be successful.
I just tried on fading effect. When I tried to click "Enter" to play the movie, it really worked that opacity decreased from 100 to 0 as I expected, but when I clicked "Ctrl + Enter" the movie didn't fade.
What's wrong with that?

Since I was unsuccessful because i had no tutors and documents about flash, I gave it up at the beginning of my vacation to catch HTML and JavaScript. May be I will try it later for the next vacation.

How did you do the fading effect? Could you explain the steps so i could replicate what you have faced?
Did the steps similar to this one: http://www.cambodiaxp.com/flash-tutorial3-1.html
You have learnt HTML and JavaScript during this vacation? That's impressive I like the javascript fading effect in your personal website. Nice website

I have not tried the Flash 8 yet. The tutorial is based on flash mx. It's hard to tell without a .fla. But do not give up. After sometimes, you will find Flash a breeze.
I still remember that i have left Flash MX in year 2 in University just to fell in love with it back during final year. It's hard to believe but it may takes sometimes to get things work the way you want it to be.

here is a quicky.
first you have to turn the object in flash into a symbol/graphic by pressing f8 while the object is still selected. second, create a keyframe on the timeline, let say on frame number 10. you can always extend the frame number depending on how long you want the object to animate. third, click anyhere between the 2 keyframes and right click-motion tween. fourth, select the last keyframe, and a property panel will appear below. then select alpha from the colour pallet and set the percentage to whatever you want and test your movie.
