CXP incremental release v2.1 wishlist

Thank you for all your support and participations in Cambodia Explore forums. We would like to give the best service to you and would really take your valuable feedback seriously. However to help us achieve the level of service that you have in mind, we need your kind suggestion as we plan for our incremental release version 2.1 somewhere in the mid of March 2006.

What would you like to see in Cambodia explore?

What area or functions you would like us to improve?

Dear admins,

First of all, I want to know what version of CambodiaXp we are surfing currently? If it is version 2, why do you put it as 2.1 for next release? why not version 3?

Actually I know nothing about web design/ management, but I came across some websites, they were cool. What I mean here is not to follow them, but I just want to imagine how the 80% ideal website is.

Comments:

1. the skin is a bit dark (sorrow), the colors of the forum and the top banner seem not to be parallel with each other

2. I don't understand the LOGO (9 zeros)

3. The google links appear everywhere

4. For tutorial part, I found it difficult since I don't know where to start. Arrangement of the levels should be done.

5. there is no interaction between users and admins besides forum (e.g. users can't pose some stuffs such as photos, their portfolios, ...) At this point I understand about the bandwidth, .... but it would be more attractive if we have those things

6. the admins should provide a single page to each member. That is members can design a page by themselves and upload to the server. I don't think it take much space to do so.

For example: http://www.cambodiaxp.com/memberName.(htm, php, ..)

7. Copy rights are the main concern, but how can you upload the flash movies like that? If we can do so, why don't we just convert some Khmer songs into flash to make them small due to the bandwidth and internet speed?

8. I think news is also important, but it is impossible for admins to pose all the news; then why don't we just let some members pose the links to replace some google links?

9. Is it possible to have to chat room?

First of all, thank you very much for your active participation in the cxp forum and the suggestions to this email.

The next release of CambodiaXP will be of Version 2.1. This is because this is an incremental functionality release. From CambodiaXP Version 1 to CambodiaXP Version 2 in November 2005, it was a major change to the development of the CambodiaXP Website, to change from the static website designs to the dynamic web funtionalities.

In this Version 2.1, we are targeting in improving the various functionalities to serve the web users better. As for web layout design and colors, we'll make changes to it in the third version of CambodiaXP release.

The "9 zeros" is not the logo for CambodiaXP.com, and will be replaced by another design in our next release (CambodiaXP Version 2.1).

As reference to your third comment, the related google links are positioned at the various tutorials and forum sites, to serve as references to other alternative flash websites that users might be interested to visit too. CambodiaXP do not want to trap our users within the website, users are encouraged to learn the flash and computing knowledge from various websites, which they find to be useful to them. Afterall, knowledge is shared world-wide right

As for the tutorial part, when one clicks onto the TUTORIAL link on the top, or alternatively by using this CambodiaXP flash tutorial URL link: http://www.cambodiaxp.com/flash-tutorial.php , one will be able to see the tutorial page divided into two sections: BASIC and ACTIONSCRIPT. The BASIC is the link to all the basic flash tutorials for the flash beginners. On the other hand, the ACTIONSCRIPT is for the more advance flash users who are more familiar with flash actionscript codings.

For your 6th comment, it is a good point raise. We'll consider.

All members are encouraged to post the links from various news related to IT, computers and flash at the CambodiaXP forum, so that more'll know about the news.

It is possible to have the chat room implemented, but CambodiaXP team has come to the conclusion of not implementing it, since CambodiaXP already has the forum as the interactive platform for users.
