One of the ways to find some interesting sites is to check some Top 10, 100 or 500 sites lists.
One is on Alexa - Top 500 Alexa rated sites (according to traffic).
You'll see that Yahoo is on 1st, Google on 3rd...

Top 100 popular searches from each country are also listed. THis can reveal some interesting sites in your or others countries.

Any other good "top sites" lists around?

search google for that top sites, you will get results in the range of 900 millions records. Simply too many.
