Is anyone out there running any kind of website where you are charging a monthly subscription fee for the content? I am curious about this model and what kind of content you are providing. Also what software you might be using to manage it.
I know this is less than common, but I have seen some mentions of people making good money with subscription services (not porn) so wanted to see if anyone here was doing it.

Do you have any examples? I'm not really sure if I understand what you mean.

Hmm... Not really. I just know some sites have membership areas that require you to pay a montly fee to have access to.. Let me see if I can dig up an example.
I don't actually pay for any so an example does not come to mind, I just know some webmasters do it, and make recurring subscription income.

i know what you mean. some reality tv shows will have a subscription fee to gain access to more areas of the website and also download sites. I don't know how you would go about it though. you would need to get a topic that people like enough to pay for

A lot of sites have "premium services" for members who pay a monthly, fee, such as babycenter.com. I only know this because sometimes I'm annoyed when I try to get to an article and the site tells me I can't access it unless I upgrade. I never do.

You would have to have really good content to get people to pay to access it. That and you would have issues with people sharing login information. There was one website that actually organized this, but I can't remember it's name.
