How do you go about developing a new site? I have not put a new one up in a while, but I will go in spurts, and every web page I have created always starts with an idea and then a vision in my head. Before I decide on software, language or anything else, I can see the layout of the site, the color schemes, the logo all in my head. Then I will work tirelessly to try and convert that to the screen. I have sometimes spent days on little details of my vision just to make it work. It is a bit obsessive, but it works for me.

Same thing kinda. I usually will have an image in my head of what I want it to look like. Then I will usually draw the layout on paper. I find this really helps me with getting the design the way I want it.

I do exactly thesame, except for the drawing the layout on paper... I love to twist the layout around and parts of it in photoshop to make it how I want it!

I think if I drew it out on paper it would ruin my vision. My drawing skills were never good, and relying on typing for writing for so long now, my pencil and paper skills have atrophied to almost nothing.

I will usually look at starting in Photoshop... or else a theme or template for whatever script I am using. I like to get a color scheme chosen early on.

I tend to make a mock up on photoshop or make a rough site in dreamweaver and the tweak all the little details until its as close to what I want as possible.

Same here. I even have a small psd with alot of color schemes on them ( at least I had it, haven't used it for a while )

I just made a new layer on the psd and started designing in some colors!
