|
|
There are 3 different type of traffic that generated for your site. Let's see what are they?
1- Type in Traffic
This is a direct type of traffic. This type of web traffic comes from user type in directly into their web browser URL. Unless you have a very good domain name, this type of traffic is hardly achievable.
For example: I'm looking for information about Cambodia blogger. Instead of going through Google or other search engines, I simply type into Internet Explorer or other web browser: cambodiablogger.com and press Go.
2- Link from other Sites
If you have a good link from "related" sites, you definitely get load of good quality traffic from this type of web traffic. Watch my word: "related" site!.
What this means is that if you have a site about flash (www.cambodiaxp.com), having a link from site like: www.flashkit.com definitely helps boosting the web traffic.
3- Traffic from Search Engines
Google, MSN and Yahoo are the top three search engines that people use to search things they want. This is a very "targeted" and quality web traffic that every webmaster would really like to have.
Why is that so? Simply because when user type in google, they really wish they could find information related to their query. If they click on your site, it means you have already get a targeted visitor. You would never know if that visitor becomes your customer one day.

Since most good domain names are already bought, I prefer the 2nd and third point about web traffic.
Where does your traffic come from?

If you use cpanel, you can have awstats installed. This shows how many people add your site to their favourites folder. I get alot of these! Around 40 - 60 %

If you didn't mention about the awstats, I would never care to look into it , Today I went in to check on my blog statistic and found it to be 39.2%. not bad huh :p
Klaas, but how can i know how many people are actually load their site from their favourite? That awstat only shows me how many people "Add" my blog to their favourite, but doesn't show any signs of number of visitors from favourite.
