What would it be if you were to build a brand new site?
Would you choose a blog, a CMS or Custom Build? and Why?

I think Blog is always the best way to start out website fresh. It is very good to get start with content site fast and easy.

It is also relatively easy to get listed with search engine.

fCMS is the flash CMS. It sounds cool right?? But I found it's a crap.
Try to see a link here: http://www.flashloaded.com/flashcomponents/fcms/

It really depends on the kind of content you are trying to output and what features you need to get it across. As I mentioned in the other thread wordpress works good for traditional blogs but is also good for a regular cms as well.

Triumph, you are right about the dependancy of the type of features you need.

Indeed, wordpress and other blog software is an ideal for most website.

What I find not very nice about blog is embeding a photo album inside blog is sometime hards as some pictures can be very large.

That is a good point. I will have to do a little research, but one thing impressive about wordpress is the plug-in community. I would not be suprised if there is not a photo gallery plug-in out there.

From my experience, the best way is with a custom made script.
I tried a few CMS, all of them are coded in a different way and if you want to add something you have to understand the code. Ofcourse, most of CMS have lots of mods and features but if you want to be unique, you have to start coding yourself. And to do that if you didn't coded the entire CMS yourself is too ... time consuming.
