running PHP as a cron job

I was doing some scripting today on text retrieval as one of my personal project and found that I need to do a cron job to make sure the script (based on PHP) to run every day. However, using the cron job coming with CPanel seems hard at first as it won't allow me to simply put up the .php files into the command.

the command is : php -q /home/serverpath/script/filename.php
