Directories of Forums:

http://big-boards.com has a list of over 1800 big forums, with 500,000+ posts each!. Search by keyword, category, language, forum script, date of start and # of posts.

http://dir.yahoo.com/
Paid submition. Good side of this is that the list is not so long when searching. Best forums are listed for sure. You actually have to search for forums, since directory is orginized by topics and not by type of the sites.
