Do any of you ever use misspelled keywords in the tags on your websites? I've heard you can really increase your traffic by doing this. It makes sense to me and I used to do it myself.

well yeah it makes sense and logic, but I haven't done this myself yet.

I rather want to look professional without mistakes and errors with a bit lesser traffic then the otherway around!

but that's just me personal!

I have seen people do it. I actually had one by accident, and the only reason I found out about it was going through my logs and I saw some hits based on the mis-spelling. Then I tracked it down to a mis-spelling i had on the page in the headers.

I didn't change it. Smile

Having writen content for numerous clients there is the occasional request to intentionall misspell something in view of a common misspelling. So far I've talked them out of it (froma professional standpoint), however I sure can see how it would trip a positive search when a word is misspelled. Whatever works I guess. Smile

i haven't done this myself, but it is a good idea and i can see why it works. if a customer misspells something then less options will come up and they are more likely to view your site.
