What would you choose? a dash in the file/folder name or an underscore as the filename/folder name:
1- this-is-the-file-name.html
2- this_is_the_file_name.html
Which one would you choose and what is your reason behind it?

I think I would choose -. Dash is just one key for me, underscore requires two.
I remember someone did a very big study on which is better to use in a domain name and I *THINK* that dashes won out over underscore in terms of better rankings.

Why do we bother dash or underscore? why not capitalization?
Don't you think ThisIsTheFileName.htm is much better than the both?
Normally if it is the address, it would be preferred as cambodiablogger rather than cambodia-blogger right?

The capitalization wont' work in some server, I can't remember which one, It could be Apache that is case sensitive and not IIS. That would mean, you can't really see the capitalization.
Hey triumph, nice analogy about ONE Key press version Two. Never thought of that..hehe
How about + signs? I notice it a lot when I was in school. And even now at company, I notice it in a local intranet. Do you think + has an impact on SEO?

I use underscores rather than dashes. I'm not sure why. I guess it just makes it look like there's an actually space between the words, and I like that. I don't mind pressing two buttons to get it. I've noticed some clients want their files with dashes though - then I have to use them.

if you compare dashes to underscores, i've heard that dashes are best. So I only use the dashes!
