If you have only 5 tips, what are those tips that you think will benefit your search engine search result?
Here's mine:
1- Get more inbound link
2- Get MORE content
3- Get specific keywords for different pages
4- exchange links with relate sites
5- submit your article to article directory.

My 1st NOT TO DO:
DO NOT pay for "Automatic" Directory submission. This is a waste of money!

I think, especially for Google, that nothing beats getting more imbound links. I would recommend quality over quantity though. When well-respected highly ranked link will be worth the weight of 500 brand-new directory links.

I agree with the quality inbound link, but I have to argue that the brandnew directory links could be worth the time as well. Submiting to those new directory is nothing more than a few minutes a directory. And you will never know what happends in the next Page Rank Update. If the directory owner really advertises his web directory, our link will be benefits. Sometimes those newly created directory will be a paid directory once they get their PR. Hence submiting to free directory is not a wasted of time.

lushdigital, point 3 won't help as most search engines already forget about the guestbook. That's spamming.
