|
|
Many domain names are bought and sold online daily. The newly bought sites need time to promote and market it. While the old one could be your next gold pot. Why? Because just like any business, it takes time to glow. Many reasons that domain name get deleted. One could be the owner no longer has the access to the domain reseller account or simply the owner decides to quit.
Below is what I do before I consider buying a delet domain name.
1- What was the site about.
It is important to know what the site was about. This is because I wouldn't want to buy a domain name that was black list by google or any search engine (p0rn, gambling etc.) In addition, I want to buy a domain name that suits my interest i.e. webmastering or Khmer related etc.
2- Who links to that site
This is one important factor to buy an expire domain name. The more back links i.e. the links from other sites to this site, the more valuable the site. What it means is that the site is quite trustworthy, that is why many people linked to it.
3- Where to buy and search for deleted or going to expire domain name?
Go to http://www.deleteddomains.com
Ya, that's basically what I considered before buying deleted or expired domain names.

From what I remembered from a course of Principle of Economics, there is a theorem saying that: There is no cash on the table.
I don't think the good website name is easily deleted because of the quit. Webmaster who holds the website exactly knows how popular the website is, right? It seems there is no reason to abandon the site. Therefore, there are lemons only in the market.
Anyway, I believe Guitarman, and i'm waiting to buy microsoft.com, google.com and so...

I am a member of deleteddomains.com. I think expireddomains.com is better, but more expensive.

Sometimes you just have to lower your expectation a little bit

I have bought some domains which had PR already and sold them for almost 10 times as expensive again! So those were good investments!

I am not crazy about it, but I just see alot of people are, which means it's easy to make money out if it, if you can get a pagerank, that's it. I work for money and pleasure... pagerank is just one of the tools I use for both

Like a site where it shows expired domains for free. Nevermind, I've found one, and it's quite nice. http://www.justdropped.com
