In your opinion, what is more important i.e to have a real world working experience or to have a college degree if you want to be a successful developer in IT industry?

For me, I found nowhere which was better than others. As long as we don't want to learn, even Harvard is still useless. To learn by passion is the most effective way. Unfortunately I am coerced to learn some stupid things in my school.

In my opinion, a real world working experience is more important than a college degree. During university I got a job offer in Africa and I went there. I worked 1.5 years and got a lot of experience that helped me a lot when I got back.
Of course, I had to finish school when I got back. So, for me a degree is important but to work on another continent and earn more experience was far more important and I don't regret I did it.

Yeah, in work environment, experience is really more important than degree.
Anyway, u need to have degree or certificate too to be a pioneer to get experience.

The degree can get you a good job. The experience is what is important though. Even if you get a degree, you will learn the most through teaching yourself.
