Hi guys,

Yesterday, i was reformat and make a partition for my friend's laptop. Her laptop is of Toshiba brand and it comes with a recovery DVD. It is all very user friendly that I couldn't even go to command prompt to do the fdisk and make partition from there. So I use the recovery DVD to make the partition.

however, after everything is recovered, I couldn't view the D drive. What to do??

After searching around the web, the solution is to format and make partition using extended partition inside the Device Manager. To do so, use the following:

- go to Control Panel
- go to Administrative Tool
- go to Computer management
- go to Storage > Disk Management
From there, you should be able to partition the D drive

Cheers, and good luck

To recover your data from inaccessible partition you can try Stellar Phoenix Windows Data Recovery Software a file and partition recovery utility which recovers data from formatted hard drive or data lost from situation like software malfunction, viruses or even sabotage.
To try the software download the demo version from:http://www.stellarinfo.com/partition-recovery.htm
Scan your hard drive and it will show you the preview of the recovered data in tree structure format so that you can copy your lost files to a working partition.
